Njord Vannkraft AS was established with a clear goal: To gather the best expertise to develop and build profitable small power plants. We are a privately owned company with 100% Norwegian owners, made up of players who complement each other professionally and strategically.
Behind the company are Volden AS, Sankthanshaugen AS, PMR AS, Nordic Energy Invest AS and JG Rønningen Invest AS. This ownership structure gives us a unique interdisciplinary strength, which we believe is absolutely essential for success in today's market.
Our core business is to deliver complete, fully developed hydropower plants, as well as upgrading older facilities to extract added value. We have specialized in the segment up to 10 MW, where we see we can create the greatest value for both landowners and power companies.

Jon Olav Volden
General manager
Jon Olav has worked with small power plants since 2013. He is a committed person who is passionate about the development of renewable energy. During his years in the industry, he has come across almost every possible problem related to the development and operation of power plants. Volden has led around ten development projects and previously worked for Norsk Grønnkraft.
"A successful project consists of good planning in advance, steel control of the economy and a realistic progress plan".
Jon Olav stands for quality in all aspects, anyone who knows him can sign that. This is transferred to the projects, and you as a customer can be sure that robust and good solutions are chosen.
Jon Olav has a master's degree in industrial economics from NMBU.
Jon Gunnar Rønningen
Finance manager and project manager
Jon Gunnar contributes in Njord with the preparation of contracts, tender documents, engineering and follows up on projects under construction.
Started in February 2023 and came from the position of general manager in Nord-Østerdal byggservice.
Jon Gunnar is a civil engineer in Industrial economics and technology management from NTH and has a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from NTNU Gjøvik
