Geitelvi power plant

Geitelvi is planned on Bolstadøyri, between Voss and Bergen. The project is planned with minimal natural intervention, as the entire waterway will run through the mountains. The power station is located in the tunnel opening by the Bolstadfjord. The project will cross under the E16 and the railway (Bergensbanen) with a tunnel.
Njord has been responsible for the application and cooperation with the landowners here. The project will be built without the construction of new intake roads.
A project in the same watercourse of 14.5 GWh had previously been applied for. This was refused since a buried pipe street was planned with major consequences for the environment. Our solution safeguards the environment as the waterway runs through the mountains and thus a minimal new intervention in nature to establish the power plant, while at the same time we have increased production to 19.3 GWh.
