Storbekken power plant

The project was completed in 2025 and is now in operation. Projects utilize a drop in the Storbekken of 230 metres. Kjøltjønnbekken is transferred to intake Storbekken for more production, this was granted a license in August 2025.
A minimum water flow is released at both intakes.
Funfact: In 2025, only three new power projects were put into operation in price area NO1 (Eastern Norway - Oslo), where most people in Norway live. These were Måna solar power plant in Alvdal, Riva small power plant in Tynset and Storbekken. All are within a radius of 15 km, so Nord-Østerdalen contributed all new power production in NO1 in 2025!
